All That Rocks!

Allright, so i was viewing the final outcomes for All That Rocks that aired July 30th on MTV 2. It was basically a descision (voted upon by viewers) for the best of the new age metal bands. These were the different categories:

~Breaking new band~
i. Avenged Sevenfold
ii. Flyleaf
iii. Panic! At the Disco

Actual Winner: Panic! At the Disco

~The Allmighty King of Rock~
i. M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold)
ii. Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance)
iii. Serj Tankian (System of a Down)

Actual Winner: Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance)

~Ultimate Metal God~
i. As I Lay Dying
ii. Lamb of God
iii. Mastodon

Actual Winner: As I Lay Dying

Well those were the most important categories n e way. All the rest were retarded and about "the best sports moment" and "best MC". Everyone knows that the best rapper has a lot to do with Rock. But oh well.

My views at this competion were completely different then those of the general public. They made me angry that it looked as though a bunch of teen girls looked at the person who had the most make up, and the band thats easiest on the ears and picked them as the winners.

Breaking new band: Winner was Panic! at the Disco. I dont understand what the big craze about these guys are. They sound like every other piece of crap alt./punk band that hit the market. Obviously the band with the most talent in this category is Avenged Sevenfold. They are far more interesting/entertainging/talented/ then Flyleaf or PATD. In my opionon PATD was the weakest here.

All Mighty King of Rock: Winner was Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance). I look at this guy and he looks like every other headman of every emocore/punk/alt/emo band on the planet. Its the skinny guy, with ghostly white skin, make up on, and his twelve year old sisters pants on. In my opionion this was a close race between Serj Tankian and M. Shadows. Overall i believe Serj should have one because of the fact that this was the king of rock. In my opionion he should be the most memorable, most unique, best voice, and headman of the most memorable band, band that is more widely known, and the person that jumps around and puts on the best show. Serj came out on top in my opionon w/ 4/6 (all but best voice, and puts on best stage show). I think he should of one but it wouldn't of been a disapointment if Shadows did win.

Ultimate Metal God: Winner As I Lay Dying. Well, I dont have much bad to say about this band. They are actually in my top 5 favorite metalcore bands. Obviously beaten by Trivium, God Forbid, GSE, etc. But anyway I was very dissapointed with seeing them crowned as the "Ultimate Metal God". Exspecially with the other large amount of talent in this group. I look at the two other groups and I think that they are a lot more talented then As I Lay Dying. I think both of the other bands are very very good bands and will be around for a long time to come. I think AILD is out on there way, and we wont see to much more from them. Mastodon is an incredable band but in my opionion they will always look up at LOG. I think Lamb of God should have won in this category, hands down. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!!!!

Well thats it. MTV 2 All That Rocks! Hopefully in ATR2 there will be a better selection of nominees. And a hell of a lot better voting done.
